Summer is already our busiest time of year to rescue and care for wildlife, with our Rescue Office receiving over 300 calls a day for assistance.
Extreme events put extreme pressure on our native animals. We need your help to care for our wildlife during this incredibly busy season.
Natural disasters at this time of year, like the horrific October fires in NSW are tragic for our wildlife and require us to provide extremely high volumes of rescues and specialist care.
The devastation bushfires cause our native animals is very severe. With ongoing extreme weather conditions forecast we need to be ready to assist our native animals that fall victim to heat stress, burns, smoke inhalation and habitat loss as well as those suffering from illness, injuries, lack of food and those who’ve been orphaned.
After the recent fires we were overwhelmed by the level of public support we received .
We rely on the public to alert us to animals in need, to seek advice and guidance to assist with native species conservation and to support our rescue and care services.
Together, we are making a difference to the lives of tens of thousands of animals each year.
Experts advise the next few months are expected to be one of the hottest summers on record.
